Terms of use

These terms govern the use of JoomRevoke, a Joomla extension. The provider is the person named in the legal notice ("we", "us"). By purchasing or using JoomRevoke you agree to these terms.

1. Licence

JoomRevoke is sold as an annual subscription licence. After purchase you receive a non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to install and use JoomRevoke on as many Joomla websites as your plan covers. The licence runs for one year from the date of purchase and renews automatically unless cancelled.

The extension itself is licensed under the GNU General Public License, version 3 or later. The plan governs how many websites may fetch updates from our update server; your rights under the GPL are unaffected.

2. Payment and billing

All payments are processed by Freemius, Inc. as our authorised Merchant of Record. Freemius handles invoicing, accounting and payment processing. By purchasing you also agree to the terms of Freemius. Prices are shown in EUR as net prices plus statutory VAT. The tax actually charged is calculated by Freemius at checkout and may vary with the buyer's location and business status.

3. Subscriptions and cancellation

Annual subscriptions renew automatically. You can cancel at any time through the Freemius customer portal. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. Partial refunds for unused periods are not granted, except as set out in our refund policy.

4. Permitted use

You may use JoomRevoke on websites you own or manage on behalf of clients, within the number of domains your plan covers. Passing on, reselling or sublicensing the licence key is not permitted.

5. Updates and support

An active subscription includes access to updates and e-mail support for the duration of the subscription period. We do not guarantee specific response times.

When your subscription expires, JoomRevoke keeps working on your website; the withdrawal button never switches itself off. You will, however, no longer receive updates - neither for new Joomla releases, nor for adjustments to changed legal requirements, nor for closed security holes. The decision not to renew, and its consequences, are yours.

6. Legal requirements and the operator's responsibility

JoomRevoke is a technical solution and not legal advice. We make an effort to implement the requirements for the electronic withdrawal button under section 356a of the German Civil Code as precisely as possible, and to follow changes in the law promptly with updates. There is no entitlement to this.

In particular:

  • We owe neither a particular deadline nor an adjustment at all when laws, regulations or their interpretation by authorities and courts change.
  • Whether JoomRevoke meets the obligations that apply to your particular case, whether you need a withdrawal button at all, and how you integrate, label and operate it, is your decision and your responsibility as the operator of your website.
  • We accept no liability for warning letters, fines, damages or other disadvantages arising from a legal assessment of your website.
  • This applies expressly even where an adjustment to a changed legal position was not available as an update, or not available in time.

If you want to know which obligations apply to your offering, consult a lawyer. That assessment is not one we can or may make for you.

7. Disclaimer of warranties

JoomRevoke is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not warrant that the extension will work free of errors or without interruption. To the extent permitted by law, we exclude all implied warranties.

8. Limitation of liability

Our liability is limited to the amount you paid for the current subscription period. We are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages arising from the use of JoomRevoke.

Liability for intent and gross negligence, for injury to life, body or health, and under the German Product Liability Act remains unaffected.

9. Discontinuation and interruption of the product

Planned discontinuation

We reserve the right to discontinue JoomRevoke. In that case we will inform registered users at least 90 days in advance by e-mail and by an announcement on joomrevoke.com.

Since JoomRevoke is self-hosted software running on the user's own server and is not provided by us as a central service, the following applies:

  • Existing subscriptions run to the end of their paid term - no early cancellation and no pro-rata refund.
  • Automatic renewals are switched off from the date of the announcement; no further charges are made.
  • The software remains usable; the withdrawal button keeps working regardless of licence and update server.
  • From the date of discontinuation there are no further updates, security patches or support.

Force majeure and personal incapacity

JoomRevoke is developed and operated by a single person. In the event of serious illness, accident, death or other circumstances beyond our control that make an announcement or any action impossible, the following applies:

  • Advance notice is not possible in these cases and is not owed.
  • Active subscriptions run to the end of their respective terms; billing continues through Freemius.
  • The software remains usable in the version available at that time; further updates, bug fixes or support are not owed.
  • There are no claims against us, our heirs or legal successors for refunds, damages or continuation of the product.

By using JoomRevoke you acknowledge that this is a software product run by a single person and that the subscription is a licence to use the software in its respective state - not a guarantee of permanent operation, updates or support.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms at any time. Continued use of JoomRevoke after changes are published counts as agreement to the new terms.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of the Federal Republic of Germany. Disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts at our place of business, as far as legally permitted.
